FishinABasket uses YouTube API Services to display fishing videos. By using FishinABasket, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect and store the following information:

• Account information: If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). Signing in is optional.
• Saved videos: If you are signed in, the videos you save are stored in our database (Google Firebase Firestore), linked to your account.
• Watch history: Videos you have watched are stored locally on your device (browser localStorage) and, if you are signed in, in our database.
• YouTube API Data: We retrieve publicly available video metadata (titles, thumbnails, channel names, publish dates) from the YouTube Data API and store it on our servers to display video listings. This data is not linked to individual users.
• Usage analytics: We collect anonymized usage statistics (page views, country, device type, referral source) through Vercel Web Analytics. This data does not personally identify you.

3. Cookies and Device Storage

FishinABasket stores, accesses, and collects information directly or indirectly on or from your device, including:

• localStorage: We use your browser's localStorage to remember which videos you have watched.
• Cookies and similar technologies: Firebase Authentication (a Google service) places cookies or similar identifiers on your device to keep you signed in. Videos are played using YouTube's embedded player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not place advertising cookies before you play a video; when you play a video, YouTube may place cookies or use device storage in accordance with Google's policies.

You can clear localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser settings.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To display fishing videos and operate the website
• To let you save videos and track your watch history
• To keep you signed in across sessions
• To understand aggregate site usage and improve the service

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the following parties as necessary to operate the site:

• Google (Firebase, YouTube): Authentication and video data are processed by Google services in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
• Vercel: Our hosting and analytics provider processes anonymized usage data.
• Neon: Our database provider stores video metadata and saved-video records.

We do not share your personal information with any other internal or external parties, except as required by law.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Saved videos and account data are retained while your account is active. You can delete your saved videos at any time within the site. To request full deletion of your account data, contact us at the email below. Watch history stored in your browser can be cleared through your browser settings.

In addition to our deletion options, you can manage and revoke FishinABasket' access to your Google account at any time via the Google security settings page.

7. Children's Privacy

FishinABasket is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
